In early 2008 the ESBC (European Shareholders of Bougainville Copper / www.bougainville-copper.eu ) sent a cameraman to the island of Bougainville to take pictures of the abandoned Panguna mine which was once one of the world's hugest open pit mines. It closed down in May 1989 due to terrorist attacks.
