Anne Svoboda

Hello

My married name is Anne Svoboda and I was married to Peter Svoboda, who also worked for Bouganille Copper. We are now divorced.

When I worked at Panguna from September 1970 to September 1971, I was Secretary to Don Veron, who was the General Manager and my name was Anne Prideaux.

On my return to Melbourne I worked for CRA until the end of July 1972 when I retired from the workforce to have my first baby. I eventually returned to CRA in 1979 to do part time work in the CRA Archives Section; then in early 1980 I worked for a year as Secretary to Jim Tyler who was a Director of the Company at that time. I eventually commenced full time work with CRA in Feburary 1981 and worked at CRA, CRA/RTZ and finally Rio Tinto until early July 2004, when I retired.

I live in Ivanhoe, a suburb of Melbourne and in my retirement I do voluntary work with a Voluntary Resource Organisation in Heidelberg, called Volunteers of Banyule. I am at present also on the Committee of Management for this organisation. I belong to the Heidelber g VIEW (Views Interests and Education of Women), and I belong to two Book Clubs.

I am now the proud grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters; Mischa who is my daughter, Elizabeth's little girl; and Georgie who is the daughter of my son Paul and his wife Margy.

Regards,
Anne Svoboda
